What is the Observatory on Educational Poverty?
The Observatory on Educational Poverty explores educational paradigms, interventions, policies and alliances needed to relaunch the role of schools and education in social and political action. With an approach grounded on research and action, the Observatory’s activities are aimed at fostering the revitalization of fragile territories, starting with investing in know-how and education as a response to the phenomena of territorial abandonment, early school leaving and skill mismatch.

Scuola Sconfinata
A path of research and listening between Milan, Genoa, Rome, Naples and Taranto, promoted in collaboration with the “E tu da che parte stai?” movement to give shape to a radically new project, in response to the pandemic emergency, but more importantly with a concrete long-term vision. Teachers, managers, educators, architects, urban planners, philosophers, pedagogues, psychologists, activists, and medical practitioners set out to imagine a school that places the right to grow up happy back at the centre, that returns to being a community asset, breaking through current rigid frameworks to turn diverse contexts of life into inclusive places of learning.

La Fragilità e l’Orgoglio
An action-research project, now in its second edition, that involves young people (18-25) in a process of listening, peer research, capacity building, planning and action on the territory. The aim is to accompany young men and women from peripheral and marginal neighbourhoods in the acquisition of useful tools as they work alongside receptive local communities in a project aimed at producing concrete and observable results within the relevant context. Blue Zone Training
A research, discussion and training workshop designed to equip professionals in the Non Profit sector with tools, approaches and methodologies necessary for taking action against educational poverty, so as to create opportunities for growth and redemption for young people and contribute to territorial renewal. The first edition saw the involvement of 12 professionals from 5 Italian cities (Milan, Genoa, Rome, Naples, Taranto). (2020/2021)
